When I launched Ommmhome, I wanted to do more than just get people’s belongings in order. In addition to helping those with the means to pay for an organizing service, I figured I could also help those in need by donating a portion of my service fees.
Five percent of the fees I collect for my organizing service are donated to Hope Solutions (formerly Contra Costa Interfaith Housing), a group that aims to end homelessness one family at a time by providing permanent, affordable hosing and vital support services to homeless and at-risk families and individuals in Contra Costa County. Hope Solutions helps families achieve dignity through self-sufficiency and provides safe environments in which children can learn and grown. I especially appreciate that Hope Solutions includes compassionate communities of all faiths. Check out their good work here.
Another five percent of the fees I collect are donated to Meals on Wheels Diablo Region. Meals on Wheels delivers fresh, healthy meals daily to low income seniors. But Meals on Wheels is truly more than a meal delivery service; volunteer drivers offer companionship and care to those who are often housebound and therefore isolated from the outside world. As a longtime driver for Meals on Wheels, I cherish the relationships I’ve formed with the seniors I see on my weekly route. I’m so grateful to Meals on Wheels for the work they do to reduce senior hunger and isolation. Read more about their good work here.
My donations are made annually in December.
